Priorities
Service is the thread connecting Don’s priorities: strong public schools, responsible use of taxpayer dollars, support for veterans, strong communities, and protecting the New Hampshire landscape that makes this home.
Strong public schools matter to children, families, local communities, and New Hampshire’s future. Don believes New Hampshire should be a stronger funding partner so towns and local property taxpayers are not left carrying so much of the burden. He is running for a fairer partnership that gives schools the resources they need while reducing pressure on homeowners in Belmont, Sanbornton, and Tilton.
Don believes state government should not balance its responsibilities by shifting avoidable costs onto towns and local property taxpayers. State leaders should examine the local cost of every budget and policy decision and build transparent state-local partnerships that avoid placing an unfair share of the burden on homeowners.
Working with veterans at the New Hampshire Veterans Home taught Don that honoring service requires more than ceremonies. Veterans deserve practical support, opportunities to stay connected with their communities, and representatives who listen to the challenges veterans and their families face.
Don believes “We the People” must include everyone. People of every race, creed, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical or intellectual ability deserve equal dignity, equal protection, and equal opportunity. He will defend LGBT rights and oppose efforts to take civil rights away from any New Hampshire resident.
As a lifelong hiker and landscape painter, Don believes protecting New Hampshire’s natural beauty is both an environmental responsibility and a commitment to future generations. He supports protecting clean water, healthy forests, conservation land, and responsible development so future generations can enjoy the same New Hampshire he grew up loving.
Belmont, Sanbornton, and Tilton share many concerns, but each has its own history, needs, and priorities. Don believes state government should listen to local residents and officials, respect appropriate local decision-making, and provide reliable support where statewide responsibilities are involved.
Don believes residents deserve representatives who answer questions, explain their votes, and remain accessible throughout the year—not just during election season. Public service should be measured by accountability and communication, not campaign promises.
